Nested Ecologies
Osaka Development
Japan 2002.

Rebooting the natural ecologies of participants in Osaka. Participants shift in cycles with the area of the development creating poetic moments in its interstitial spaces. A blooming tapestry that exploits this systematic paradigm of the persistent routines of the Osaka participants. An architecture is constructed that develops within the natural rhythms of site. Initially a platform is constructed and embedded into a landscape of ecology that far exceeds the limits of the site. Flora and fauna mix with the seasonal and diurnal environment with slow and abrupt changes. Consequentially it becomes a nested ecology in an area of Osaka which relies on the social, economic and environmental fields of sustainability.
